History of Backfire
Backfire skateboards were developed almost more than 10-years ago out of the desire of two avid college skateboarders to improve the price-quality of electric skateboards over other overly priced boards on the market before becoming one of the leading makers of eskate high-performance budget boards.
Randy and Jerry’s unique vision first gave birth to the G1 electric skateboard, eventually leading to the subsequent development of the Backfire G2 electric skateboard in 2017, which was introduced as the new and improved, more powerful version of the G1. And it is still a popular version offered as part of their product line even today.
The company also has the advantage of founder and engineer Randy’s background in mechanical electronics, which enables Backfire to make an insightful, more enjoyable board for skaters of all skill levels. The 17-year skateboard master and graduate of East China University also does the performance and quality testing himself to ensure a great ride.
Customers can also work with the Backfire research and development team, which includes a product visual designer, structure engineer, mechanical engineer, and industrial designer, to create a custom board that meets their individual performance design needs.
First Eskate Models
As mentioned earlier, the G1 skateboard was the first eskate model to be designed by Backfire, which hit the market in 2013.
But its single motor-belt drive, 83mm polyurethane wheels, braking system, and top speed of only 12 mph soon left the company wanting to offer more in their skateboards, so they’ve since created various more modern versions to keep up with the times.
However, its flexible maple with bamboo layered deck can still be seen in many of their models today, though its original shape has since changed.
Current Backfire Models

Mini
The Mini is the only shortboard offered by Backfire, and it boasts just an 11-mile range, which makes it more suitable for those just looking to take short rides or commutes.
However, it only has a charge time of 1.5 hours and a top speed of 26 mph, which still makes it quite impressive for a skateboard.
It also includes smaller 85mm wheels and a kicktail for more controlled turning.
The body is also constructed of carbon fiber, so it offers a more stable ride for beginners and larger riders.
It also costs under $700, which makes it a more budget-friendly choice.

Ranger X2
The Ranger X2 is a more elaborate board built for all-terrain capability with 165mm replaceable, airless rubber tires for continuous tread and an overall design that keeps dirt and debris out of the hub motors.
It also includes double king-pin trucks for responsive handling and is capable of reaching a 22mph speed and an 18-mile range on typical roads.
However, due to its all-terrain features, it is also the most expensive board offered by Backfire at $1200.

G3
The G3 is ideal for beginners and advanced riders looking for a good, reliable, moderately priced board capable of racking up several thousand miles on it.
At $799, it features two 450w hub motors that provide a top speed of 28mph, while the battery lasts up to 18 miles per charge.
Its bamboo and fiberglass deck also allows for a more flexible ride, and it also includes 96mm wheels.
